What happens after I submit a report of piracy through the piracy reporting form?
1. What is piracy and how does it affect courses on Thkee?
The unapproved use or duplication of another person's copyrighted work is known as piracy. To tackle piracy, Thkee has collaborated with an anti-piracy vendor that will search for instances of infringement on your behalf and eliminate them from search engines to prevent future traffic.
Instructors can fill out the third-party piracy reporting form that allows them to report instances of piracy.
2. What is Thkee’s Piracy Detection Program?
The anti-piracy provider for Thkee keeps an eye out for any listings associated with piracy in the links that Google gives by monitoring known pirate websites and Google search results. You may be sure that our Piracy Detection Program is keeping an eye on this. Should our anti-piracy provider discover any links connected to piracy, it is they that notify the main search engines using a legal document known as a "takedown notice" in order to halt the traffic.
The goal of the Piracy Detection Program is to offer proactive monitoring for Thkee course infringement. Additionally, we are able to offer reactive support to all other Thkee courses. If your content is ever discovered to be accessible on another platform without your consent, please fill out and submit your report using our form for reporting third-party piracy.
3. Which courses are included in the Piracy Detection Program?
The Piracy Detection Program includes paid courses since pirates frequently target those with significant traffic volumes. Because these are the most popular paid courses on Thkee and are exclusive to the platform, the PDP, or Piracy Detection Program, is designed to guarantee coverage for these courses worldwide. While the exact courses that qualify for the program may change over time, its main goal is to support the 1,600 paid courses on Thkee that receive the most traffic.
4. What do I need to do to be part of the Piracy Detection Program?
You can participate in the program without having to take any action if you have accepted Thkee's Instructor Terms. The program will be automatically opted into for all qualified courses. We will notify you via email which of your courses has been added to the program if one of your courses becomes eligible.
5. If my course is eligible for the Piracy Detection Program, will I need to pay to participate?
For eligible courses, instructors can use the Piracy Detection Program for free.
6. If my course on Thkee is not part of the program, can I still get help with any instances of piracy that I find?
You don't need to worry since, even in cases when a specific Thkee course isn't covered by the Piracy Detection Program, our anti-piracy partner will assist any instructor in combating infringement. Please complete our piracy reporting form if you discover your course is being offered without your consent on another platform.
Following the reception of your complaint, our anti-piracy vendor will look into it and, if necessary, submit a takedown request to the main search engines in order to prevent further traffic.
7. If I host my content on another platform, how will the anti-piracy vendor know it’s not an infringing webpage?
Further manual inspection is carried out by our anti-piracy partner to prevent legal alerts from being sent to lawful websites.
In order to ensure that the instructors do not submit takedown requests against the specific domains that our anti-piracy provider has highlighted, they will also permitlist of those domains. Please specify the website you would like us to allowlist if you would like us to do so so that we may give our anti-piracy vendor the necessary information.
8. What should I do if I find a website that offers a pirated version of my course?
In the unlikely event that your course qualifies for the Piracy Detection Program, our anti-piracy vendor might have already filed a takedown request to have the instances of infringement removed from popular search engines in order to halt further traffic. Daily or weekly pirate detection scans are conducted, contingent on a number of variables, including past piracy trends. Still, if you manage to locate a connection, you might want to report it to us by completing our piracy reporting form.
You may also choose to report infringement websites directly using the piracy reporting form if your course is not accepted for the Piracy Detection Program.
9. What happens after I submit a report of piracy through the piracy reporting form?
If you were required to submit a pirate reporting form, our anti-piracy vendor will ensure that any instances of infringement from major search engines are removed in order to prevent further traffic. These requests are often filed within a week and frequently call for special handling.
