An effective way to boost the value of your course and enhance each student's learning experience is to incorporate materials into your lectures. This page explains the kinds of resources that can be used in lectures as well as how instructors can incorporate them.
Please take note that all resources must be public domain, pertinent to the subject of your presentation, and uncommercial.
Types of Resources
The following categories of resources can be included in course lectures.
- Downloadable materials can be any file type, including JPG, PDF, ZIP, XLS, MOV, and MP3. Unfortunately, source code such as HTML and JS cannot be submitted directly; however, these files can be uploaded as a ZIP file.
- The maximum upload size for any single file is 1 GB, but there is no limit on the number of files you can submit. You can choose to upload your files straight to your course.
- Source code: For development classes, only Python and Ruby files can currently be uploaded.
How to add resources to a lecture
To add a resource to a lecture, first build the lecture and then add material. When you're ready to add resources, please take these simple steps:
- Navigate to the Course Curriculum page.
- Click on Curriculum.
- Click the respective Edit button at the right.
- Click the + Add Resources button.
Select whether the resource is a Downloadable File or a Source Code.
Upload a ZIP file for your students to download if you wish to upload several materials.
