Why is the Intended Learners section important?
Remember that students use the descriptions you provide in the area titled "Intended Learners" to decide whether or not your course is right for them. Furthermore, if you use this knowledge to set realistic expectations, students will rate your course higher when they return to it.
What you need to know
Make sure the following is completed in the Intended Learners section:
- With a more focused course, you will achieve better results in the marketplace. Therefore, you have a defined target audience in mind.
- Your audience will develop additional skills that they do not presently possess.
- The course's objectives and learning outcomes are reasonable and doable. You make sure the course meets up to your expectations by setting reasonable expectations.
Keep in mind, that we do check for this as part of our Quality Review Process.

Every prompt needs to be completed; none should ever be left empty.
- Four learning objectives or outcomes, minimum.

Avoid using generalizations like "everyone" or "the course is meant for everyone."
