What are Thkee’s minimum standards around video quality?
You need to have at least 30 minutes of video content in your course before you can publish it. Additionally, Thkee demands that the video's material be in HD quality, with a minimum resolution of 720p.
See our Course Quality Checklist for more information regarding our specifications and suggestions for course videos.
What kind of camera should I use to record my course?
We have recommended a number of different camera types that have been used to capture published Thkee courses in case you are creating a video for your course:

Your iPad (iPad 2 models and above)
- Most DSLR cameras

What are the recommended export settings for video files (codec settings and video file types)?
When using any kind of video editing software, you will need to export your recordings to a video file. While Thkee works hard to support the widest range of video and audio settings and codecs, we strongly advise the following settings for the smoothest upload experience:
- Quality: Best (if available)
- Codec: H.264, HEVC, ProRes
- Resolution: 1920x1080 or better
Note: For video lectures, a minimum resolution of 1280x720 is needed; any lower resolution will be immediately ignored.
- Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Note: Videos with an aspect ratio larger than 16:9 will have our system automatically resize them to 16:9. Our Quality Review Team may decide to reject a video if the final product is of low quality.
- Picture Orientation: Landscape (avoid using Portrait orientation)
- Frame rate: 25 to 60 fps (*Currently all outputs are resampled to 30 fps)
